Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Valley High School, home of the Grizzlies!
California Model Continuation High School

Happy 2025-26 Grizzlies!
I am excited for an incredible year at Valley High School!
This year, our focus is on enhancing programs and support systems that yield measurable positive results as we strive to “Level Up!”
We will continue our schoolwide emphasis on Respect, Think, and Participate (RTP). We believe that RTP is foundational to success at VHS, in college, in careers, and in life. This commitment to RTP fosters a supportive and welcoming climate for all students, families, and staff.
Additionally, we will build upon our academic support programs that help students stay on track to graduate on time. We will continue to offer interventions and targeted tutoring opportunities before and after school.
While Valley has seen a steady increase in attendance, there is still much work to be done. Consistent attendance is essential for success. Our goal is for all students to maintain at least a 90% attendance rate. We will closely monitor attendance and develop intervention plans with input from students, families, and Valley staff.
We have established a multidisciplinary team to evaluate students’ progress and create personalized intervention plans. This approach enables us to provide coordinated and holistic support for academic, behavioral, and mental health needs. It also helps eliminate service gaps and fosters an integrated approach to student support.
Finally, connecting students to opportunities after high school is a key goal for VHS. Our College and Career Corner will offer a variety of options for students to explore their post-graduation paths. These opportunities include counseling, field trips, career days, and financial aid application support. Our aim is to assist our graduates in transitioning to college, apprenticeships, the military, or trade school.
As an educator, I firmly believe in the power of the school-student-family connection. I have repeatedly witnessed how a strong partnership between the school and families, focused on providing the best support for students—academic, behavioral, and mental health—enables them to achieve their goals.
I look forward to an amazing 2025-26 school year!
Take care, everyone!
